What to do if the order fails?

Note After all these operations are completed, you need to re-create an order in shopify to place an order, and other operations can’t be performed on orders that have failed.

1、AE products don’t support delivery to the customer’s address

Solution — Check the address and fill in a valid delivery method

2、The address does not meet the AE order requirements

Solution — modify the order information, the common error messages are as follows :

  • Country is not filled in or wrong
  • There are fixed requirements for phone numbers in some countries, for example, Chinese phone numbers must be 11 digits
  • The zip code is incorrect. Some countries also have format requirements for the zip code. For example, the Canadian zip code must be composed of alternate capital letters and numbers.
  • If all of the above are correct and it still shows failure, then please contact us.

3、Insufficient AE inventory

Solution —There are 5 solutions, you can choose one of them.

  • Delete original product

Delete the original product, re-import the new product, and place the order again.

  • Change supplier

If you change the supplier, you can choose to add a supplier who sells the same product. The operation process is as follows .

【My Products】—Choose a product—-Click【Manage variants】on the right
Click [Add Product]
Paste the new URL
After adding, click the position shown in the picture to select a new supplier

For ease of understanding, the two products in the picture are not the same, but please ensure that the products are consistent during actual operation

  • Use overried function

This function allows the old product to be covered by the new product. If you choose this function, please ensure that the new product and the old product are the same. The operation flow is as follows.

【My Products】—Choose a product—-Click【overried product】on the right
Paste the new URL–Choose whether to overwrite other information
  • Replace the ordered product

Let the customer choose other variant products. If the customer chooses a pink product, then you can ask the customer if the pink product can be replaced with another color after the stock is insufficient.

  • Reduce the number of purchases

If the inventory is only 2 pieces, and the customer wants 3 pieces, you can ask if you are willing to reduce the purchase quantity .

4、Product error (caused by reasons such as the product being off the shelf)

Solution —There are 3 solutions, you can choose one of them.

  • Delete original product

Delete the original product, re-import the new product, and place the order again.

  • Remove this product from shopify
  • Replace the product and overrid it

Just like the above [overried function]

5、Blacklisted buyers or buyer accounts have been disabled

This is a rare situation, if it happens, please contact AliExpress customer service department for more information

6、The order does not display pictures and product specifications

This is caused by the confusion of the mapping relationship. You can delete the product and upload it again, place an order again to solve it, or use the overried function.

Note:After all of the above operations are completed, you need to re-create an order in shopify to place an order, and other operations cannot be performed on orders that have failed.

Click [order] in shopify–[create order]
Fill in the content as shown in the picture, pay attention, be sure to select paid

With variant mapping, you can combine these into one product that offers the shirt in Small, Medium, Large, and Extra Large.

How to Map Variants

To map multiple product variants into one product, follow the steps below:

1. Go to the My Products page.
2. Click on the product you want to map additional variants.
3. Click “Manage variants”. 

4. Click “Add Product” and paste the product URL you want to connect. You can connect up to 5 different products.

5. In the “Manage Variants” section, from the drop-down change the product source and select the corresponding variant.
6. If you want to add a completely new variant, click “Add Variant”, give a name to your variant and click on the ”Create Variants” button.

7. Select the product and the corresponding variant. You can add up to 100 variants to one product.
8. Once you are done, click “Save”. 

How to Unmap Variants

If you want to remove some variants or products, follow these steps:

1. Go to the My Products page.
2. Click on the product you want to remove variants from.
3. Click “Manage variants”.
4. Click on the trash bin to remove the unwanted variants.

5. If you want to disconnect the connected product, click “X” next to it.

6. Once you are done, click “Save”.

Changing Currency

ANTDIY shows and imports all product costs in USD. If you want to sell your products in another currency, then you need to change the currency settings in Shopify and adjust the product prices as per the currency conversion rate.

Product prices are not converted automatically from one currency to another. You have to adjust the product prices manually or use the Global Pricing Rules feature in ANTDIY. If you use Shopify Payments, then you can sell in multiple currencies.

Change currency in Shopify

To change the currency in your online store, follow these steps:

1. From the Shopify admin, go to Settings and then click General.

2. In the Store currency section, select the preferred currency.

Note: If you have launched your store and have already made sales, then you need to contact Shopify Support to change your store currency.



3. Click Save.

Once you make changes, then your product prices will be visible in the new currency. For example, if the product price is 10 USD and you change the store currency to EUR, the product price will be changed to 10 EUR. To keep your product prices correct, you should adjust them as per the currency conversion rate.

Adjust product prices using the Global Pricing Rules

If you manage your product prices using the Global Pricing Rules, then you need to adjust its multipliers (if you used the Fixed Markup before, then change it to the Multiplier) according to the currency conversion rates. To learn more about the Global Pricing Rules, refer to the How to Set the Global Pricing Rules article.

To do that follow these steps:

1. Check the conversion rate (USD to your selected currency) on Google or any other preferred currency conversion website.



2. In ANTDIY, go to Settings and then to the Global Pricing Rules tab.

3. Change the product cost multiplier depending on the currency conversion rate.

For example, if you change the currency from USD to EUR, your current multiplier is 2.5 and the currency conversion rate is 1 USD = 0.88 EUR, then you should calculate the new multiplier like this: 2.5 x 0.88 = 2.2.

4. Click Save settings.

5. Click Apply pricing rules to existing products to update prices for your products. Price updates may take from several minutes to hours depending on the number of products you have imported.

6. Select the preferred update type and the update scope.

7. Click Apply.

After you make this change, your product prices are calculated as per your new multiplier. For example, if your product used to cost 10 USD, now it will cost 8.80 EUR in your Shopify store.

Adjust product prices manually

If you didn’t use the Global Pricing Rules to price your products, then you need to adjust your product prices one by one or in bulk in the Shopify admin according to the currency you selected.

To do that, follow these steps:

1. From the Shopify admin, go to Products.

2. Click on a product you want to adjust the price.

3. In the Price field, adjust the product price according to the new currency.

For example, if you change the currency from USD to EUR and the original product price was 10 USD, then you need to adjust its price to 9,2 EUR (depends on the currency conversion rates).

You can check the currency conversion rate (USD to your selected currency) on Google or any other preferred currency conversion website.



4. Click Save.

Repeat the same process for every product or you can use the bulk actions menu to adjust product prices quickly. To learn more, refer to the Bulk editing products and variants article.



Sell in multiple currencies

If you use Shopify Payments, then you can sell in multiple currencies. Your customers can shop and pay in their preferred currencies. For more information, refer to the Sell in multiple currencies with Shopify Payments article. However, ANTDIY shows and imports all product costs in USD. Therefore, your default currency in Shopify Payments has to be set to USD.



The USD default currency is only available in the United States and in Canada. The default currency depends on the location of your store and your payout bank. For example, if your store is located in France, then you can have only EUR as your default currency. To learn more, refer to the Selling and getting paid in different currencies article.

Import Products

ANTDIY helps you find great products to sell. Explore the AliExpress marketplace, add desired products to the Import List and then import them to your Shopify store. 

Customize Products

The imported products appear with the supplier’s information and images, however, we recommend editing these products to make them look more professional in your Shopify store. You can customize products in the Import List before you import them to your Shopify store.

Set Up Product Prices

Once you have added products to your store, you can now consider what markup you should add to the wholesale price. With ANTDIY “Global Pricing Rules” feature, you can price your products in bulk.

Order Products

After you receive an order, you will have to go to ANTDIY > Orders page and click on the orange “Order Products” button. After you confirm the payment, the supplier will ship the product within several days. ANTDIY will add the tracking code and will mark your order as “Fulfilled” in Shopify.

How to Change a Customer’s Shipping Address Before Placing the Order

If after receiving an order in your Shopify store the customer contacts you because they need to ship the item to a different address, follow the steps below.

Go to the Shopify admin > Orders page, find the order, and click on the “Edit” button next to the “Shipping Address” section.

Change the shipping address and click on the purple “Save” button. 

PS:Because the user address only supports English input on AliExpress, please update to English first and then place an order in ANTDIY, if the user address is not English in your Shopify store.

The new address will shortly be synced with ANTDIY. You can check this by clicking on the customer’s name next to the order. 

Once you see the new address, you can click on the “Order Product” button to start processing the order.

If your customer asks to change the shipping address once the order has already been purchased from the supplier, you should immediately contact the supplier by direct message and ask to change the address of the shipment.

If the order has not been dispatched, the supplier should agree to change the address.

How to Cancel an Order

If your customer wants to cancel an order, you will need to follow these steps:

1. Cancel the order from your supplier and get the refund.
2. Cancel the order in the Shopify admin and issue a refund to your customer.

You can only cancel the order from the supplier if the order is not yet shipped out. If you have already paid for your order, the cancellation request needs to be approved by the supplier first. If an agreement is reached, the supplier will not ship your order and the transaction will be cancelled automatically. You will receive your refund between 3-15 business days.

If no agreement is reached, the seller will continue to ship your order.

Cancelling the AliExpress Product Order

1. Go to the AliExpress.com website, “My Orders” page.
2. Find the needed order and click “Cancel Order” next to it.

3. From the pop-up window, confirm the cancellation request.
4. If an agreement is reached, the supplier will not ship the order and the transaction will be cancelled automatically.
5. You will get an email notification about the order cancellation.

Cancelling Your Customer Order

1. Go to Shopify admin, “Orders” page.
2. Select the needed order.
3. Click “More actions” and then “Cancel ” order.

4. From the opened modal, adjust the refund amount if needed and select a reason for canceling the order.

Note: You can only cancel orders that have fulfillment status as ”Unfulfilled”. If the order is ”Fulfilled” or ”Fulfillment requested”, you can only click on ”Refund items”. 

How to Split Product Variants into Separate Products

You can split any product that has more than one variant into separate Shopify products. Here are the steps:

1.  Add the product to the Import list.

2. Click on the “Action” button and then “Split Product”.

3. If you want to split the product by the specific option such as by “Color” or “Size”, choose it from the pop-up window and click “Split to X Products”. 

In this case, we will create a separate product for each option variant. If you have one product with “L”, “M” size variants and you select to split it by size, you will end up with two different products each representing only one size (1 x L, and 1 x M).

Otherwise, you can split the product manually and select which product variants you would like to sell in your Shopify store.

For example, you can choose the “M” size variant and extract only this variant into a new product.

Note: When we create a new product, we disable the unused variants instead of deleting them. This allows you to easily enable a specific variant any time, even after you have split the product.

How to Sync Existing Shopify Products with ANTDIY

Understanding the Override feature

ANTDIY has an “Override” feature, which is used in several cases:

-If you have already AliExpress products added to your Shopify store and you want to connect them to ANTDIY;
-If you have accidentally unsynced the Shopify product from ANTDIY and you want to sync them back;
-If you want to change the supplier for the product.

The Process of Overriding the Product

1.  Add new supplier’s product to the Import List.

2. From the Import List, click “More actions” and “Select Product to Override”.

3. From the pop-up menu, select your existing Shopify product.

4. If you want to replace the product title, description or images, mark the checkboxes below. If you do not mark these options, the product title, description and images will stay the same as in your existing Shopify product.

5. To complete the override process, click “Import and Override”.

6. If you have any orders that haven’t been ordered from the supplier, ANTDIY will ask you to match product variants for those orders.
